Programming/Partnerships

Latisha is in talks with Dohn (Elevated Excellence Academy) about possibly partnering to offer their students social emotional learning groups. The Program Coordinator feels that this program will be a great fit for their students. The first step is for Latisha to send the Program Coordinator at Dohn a proposal by December 6th. Update: Latisha has not had any follow up conversation with contact at school despite numerous phone calls/text message exchanges
Hamilton County Juvenile Court- We will offer our Project E.P.I.C Program to their clients who are on probation. The program will start on January 22nd and run for 12 weeks. Update: Program started on 1/15 with a cohort size of 5 male students.
Latisha has contacted several schools to partner with offer our case management services to their students and families. Latisha will provide an update on approved partnerships once secured.

Staffing

Case Manager-No start date yet as she is still going through the credentialing process and background screening.

The other staff we were hiring in this role stepped down as there were issues at her current employer with her doing part-time work with us in the case manager role.

We had two new interns start this month. Emma will take over our social media accounts. Josiah is doing office work/admin work.

Update: Emma stepped down/was fired recently. We have a student (Sofia) from UC who is volunteering to run our Facebook and IG pages as part of her scholarship requirement. She started last week.

We have a student intern (Erin) that is interested in working with us as a grant writer. She is looking to start in the summer semester which begins in May. Latisha is currently checking her references.

Mentor Recruitment

a. We are bringing on a potential 5-6 additional mentors that are going through the onboarding and matching process. 22 mentees, 21 mentors and 45 mentees on the waitlist.

5. Grant Writing Services

Latisha has a phone call today with a former contact to provide grant writing services. They have a special at the moment that consists of grants under $10,000 are $25 each and grants $10,000-30,000 are $150 each. Latisha will share out more at the meeting next week.

6. Former Event Planner Update

The firm we used for free legal help has finally been able to get in touch with Tephra. She reported to the law firm that she is seeking legal counsel. The firm will follow up with Tephra soon as well as have a conversation with Latisha on what our options are for litigation, their fees, etc.

7. Events

Youth Summit

We had low youth attendance this year (29 compared to 58 last year). Overall, youth and parents shared they enjoyed it.
Latisha plans to work with CPS to host the next youth summit during the school day to help youth attendance.

Back-to-school
